How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Purple (Part 3)

The third part (or 4th session) in a Purple campaign, the intrepid players decided to have a snowball fight, blow up the islands, reset time, and find a long Lost's lover. A porn star made an appearance, as did a biker gang led by a fellow of the name Black Willy. Randall wore some grotty old bedsheets. Incidentally the players are starting to wear purple more to the sessions. The transformation will soon be complete.

Like last week I'll stick to highlighting some of the memorable points. I'm not sure if its better or worse than speeling out the whole session in full - on the one hand its quicker to read and recount, but then no doubt to those who weren't there there is bound to be a fair bit of confusion at what the flip is going on!

Snow

The adventure resumed with the party inside a tavern, discussing if they would enter the fighting arena that evening. Lost was sure however that it would all work out in the end, prompting a roll on his Alice "Exasperation" table. Netting a 6, he got the chance to pick the weather and so naturally went for a full on snowstorm to snow them into the area.

While Buxom and Ivy discussed the chances that Karys may now in fact be a god, with Buxom being a prophet, Lost decided to organise a snowball fight in the nearby arena. After the last remaining patron of the bar said that Lost's fiancée Favian was a bit "meeeh..." in regards to his musical style, Lost tinkered with Ultra-Net's ice cream dispenser and turned it into a snowball machine, peppering the uncouth gent into a pile of pistachio ice cream.

He was then shown the video-dialling unit and began dialling numbers at random, yelling "Snowball fight!" as soon as his call was answered. Randall meanwhile ripped up some mattresses and sheets to make an effective camouflage outfit for hiding in the snow; his thinking was to hide up in the snow with his rifle, overlooking the arena in case anything went wrong.

Freak

The Freak was the current champion of the arena. Combatants were taking it in turns to try and defeat the Freak for fame and fortune, giving it their all to take down what turned out to be a koshi that was kept below the arena in a cage when he wasn't fighting. Witnessing the Freak defeat the previous contestants in various ways, Ivy was starting to lose some of her desire to fight in the arena after all.
Lost assured those around him that he was sure everything would work out ok which prompted another Exasperation roll. He got the weather manipulation result again so opted for thunder and lightning to join the snow storm that was battering the arena.
While the Freak panicked in the storm, Randall waited for the crack of thunder to take his shot and put the poor creature out of its misery. Ivy quickly leapt forward to make it look like her kill, chopping its head off and holding it high for all to see.
Unfortunately large parts of the audience weren't happy with this and fights began to break out all around the arena. The end result was Lost and Ultra-Net blowing up the electro-protection barriers, Buxom causing a section of the audience to believe they were now in Italy circa 1817 at a Marti Gras and for the group as a whole to steal what cash they could from the bookies.

Boom

While making their way west, following a trail of posters promoting "Favian and the Flippers", the gang came across a pedestal next to the base of the mountain range which had a large button on it. Thumping the button revealed a dashboard of several smaller buttons, so Randall and Lost immediately set about fiddling with the buttons. After several attempts, they managed to successfully (?) activate the doomsday device built into the islands.

A large warhead device trundled up in front of them, its cap rotating slowly. Buxom fell to the ground clutching her head as her brains melted and dribbled out of her nose and ears. Explosions began to go off around the islands, with dimensional rips forming every 30ft or so with tentacles and all sorts peeling out. As the end hit them, they woke up in the hut they had slept in the first night.

They realised they had gone back a few days (Karys was back, Buxom and Ultra-Net were gone and they had lost the cool items they'd been collecting).

Favian

Due to the unexplained reset in time after the explosion, the party were able to use their knowledge from the past few days to retrace their footsteps to get back to where they were originally quicker. This resulted in Lost entering an inn in Laster and seeing his fiancée Favian playing up on stage. It was an emotional moment as their eyes locked across the room and they both rushed towards each other crying out their names. It was slightly dampened by Lyrica calling out, "Daddy!" and joining in on the passionate reunion, earning her a shove back into the crowd.
