Amidst the trees of a great forest lies The Court of Oberon; this bacchic den of debauchery, insobriety and barbarianism is the epitome of excess. The court is a hive of cannibalistic partying, filled with treachery and deceit, love and lust, and the games of the immortals are the doom of anyone foolish enough to join in and play. Gifted, or cursed, with immortality and immense power, Oberon and Titania, The King and Queen of the Court, have been driving each other mad over the years. The forest is their battleground, a great expanse of twisting trees forming a mighty labyrinth.
Within, their creatures and minions battle it out for their masters. Faeries on either side of their master and mistresses war clash, play together, Romeo and Juliet their way through dangerous traps and monstrous plants all the while trying their best to hinder any attempt humans have at either trying to just pass through the forest or help either Oberon or Titania.
And then there is Puck, who has their own idea of fun.
Below, the great Queen and King are detailed in all their glory. Their skills, their spells and their games. Use them and this setting as you wish, either as a simple encounter or as a scenario. Couple these two with the Mirror Table, possibly changing mirrors to pools of clear water, and The Wishing Tree and you could have a deliciously dangerous adventure. Treat both of these characters as 15th-17th level Elves, stat them as you wish depending on your scenarios difficulty. They should not be easy to kill.
Oberon
The seemingly ageless King of the Forest, Oberon has forgotten his birth, childhood, or if he even had such things in the past. He appears as a handsome bearded man with pointed ears and teeth, very tall and wearing the skins of a white Hart. The White Hart's head is his crown. Oberon is a man of the moment, a man who likes to indulge himself in pleasures rather than politics and he is heatedly passionate, without fear of consequences. He's an immortal omni-sexual with the power to bend time and reality, after all. If he wants something he shall have it although he will not just take the object of his desires. There is fun to be had in the pursuit of that object and he has all the time in the world. In the end he will have his prize regardless of the game that's played. He is king and has been king for all time, as far as he can remember anyway. He is completely and utterly in love with his wife but he is not a strong believe in monogamy on his part.
His apparent hot-headedness is not to be mistaken for simply blowing smoke. Oberon is one of the most dangerous and powerful creatures in the forest and he will not hesitate to destroy those who oppose him. His arrogance and bacchic joviality can dissipate if he believes his forest, his wife, or his life is in any real danger, not that such a thing has ever occurred, he is old enough not to be unwise.
He despises any real change that wasn't manufactured by himself and his main goal is to keep the same cycles of marital war and decadent partying ticking round for all eternity.
Minions
He is often accompanied by a group of randy Satyrs and cannibalistic Maenads. His minions are known as the Provocateurs. Stags, Boars, Oxen, Rats, Crows and Snakes are Oberon's minions.
Oberon's Games:
- Tricking players into having to throw an elaborate party for his and Titania's anniversary, whilst sending his minions to hinder them in every way. The penalty of a terrible party being eternal torture. The true gift of his anniversary to Titania is giving her human victims to humiliate.
- Eternal war with his wife every century over who should own mortals who walk into woods and only a few weeks of a year is devoted to peace.
- Orchestrating elaborate affairs for his wife in order to mess with her (love potions in the eyes for example), and often he will become jealous during this game and seek to punish her fraternising with others and the object of her affection.
- Oberon enjoys combining humans and animals, often in grotesque and terrifying ways. He loves populating his forest with horrifying monstrosities to remind mortals who really has power in the world. He may use adventurers or trick adventurers into aiding his creations.
- Causing ridiculous love triangles, squares, dodecahedrons between mortals lost in the forest especially if it destroys human social structures aka. nobles falling in love with peasants.

Titania
The seemingly ageless Queen of the Forest, Titania cannot remember a time before the wars with her husband. She is not sure if she is happy or unhappy and it is this calm indecision on behalf of her heart that keeps her from leaving Oberon. She enjoys the games whilst they last but Titania's goal is more long term than her husbands, Whilst he aims to keep their dance going on forever, Titania seeks to end it and take control of the forest for her own dark purposes. She oozes decadence and sexuality, her approach to festivities and lust are deadly and ritualistic; with great importance placed on ceremony and tradition. She is a Queen of madness and love and she is the mother of obsession and hunger.
Minions
Minotaur's and Faeries are Titania's flesh-eating, seductive minions, they are known as the Pursuants. Wolves, Owls, Rabbits, Doe and Fawns, and poisonous Spiders are Titania's animal followers.
Titania's Games
- Putting on parties, but a good "party" requires the perfect aphrodisiac from the Wild Gardens, so she often sends adventurers off into the dangerous forest in search of plants. Usually though, she has lied to the adventurers as she and her guests watch from the party clearing as the players die off and bet on who will survive.
- Wnning at war is a little more permanently. She will enlist the players to help her find and kill Puck, Oberon's "loyal" servant, who spends his time dancing precariously between the lethal fae world and the mortal realm.
- Replenishing her fae army after Oberon and Titania's many strange and unusual battles. In a dark ritual, Titania transforms young human babes and children into monstrous beasts or, if they are luckier, faeries themselves. She may request the players bring her suitable children, or perhaps the players need to rescue them.
- Creating beautiful wines from the blood and viscera of still-barely-living virgins, she also likes keeping this fact a secret for a grand reveal when enlisting poor humans to help her collect the ingredients.
- Eternal war with her husband every century over who should own mortals who walk into woods and only a few weeks of a year is devoted to peace.
